Remembering Corey

Dear beloved members,

Some of you may not remember Corey and his brother Chris, and some of you weren't on-site when they were. Corey played Daken Akihiro and Joshua Foley (Elixer) for a short time, and Chris played Jean-Paul Beaubier (Northstar) for the short time he was with us. Chris had been diagnosed with terminal cancer and lost his battle about three or four months before Corey joined X-Gen. Corey joined to keep some part of his brother alive. He wanted to see the site that his brother loved so much and he wanted to be a part of it, so he joined and became a part of our wonderful family just as Chris had.

On May 15, 2014, one of our staff members received an email from Corey's mother saying that Corey had taken his own life. The amount of sorrow and helplessness felt by the staff team as a whole was unfathomable. With Chris, we had known that there would be an end, but with Corey, we had no idea. Today marks a year since that email was received, and the staff decided that Corey needed to be remembered fondly.

Some of the staff have created graphics and videos dedicated to Corey and the amount of heart that he put into Daken as a character. We miss you Corey, and we're so sorry.
