The X-Gen Staff Team hopes that this update finds all of our fantastic members well, and we hope that you’re enjoying the ‘cooler’ weather of autumn. It’s been pretty busy for your beloved staff team, and we apologize for that. For those who may not know, Frost and Sarinth recently were able to move into a lovely new home and have been working on getting settled and unpacked. Kayla and Roseland have been working on individual Masters degrees as well as their full-time jobs and extracurricular commitments. We apologize for our seemingly lack of appearances but we promise that things will pick up relatively quickly!
In a movement to push plots further and get threads moving at a quicker pace, X-Generation will be temporarily discontinuing our required word count. While this will be a relief to some, please keep in mind that roleplay etiquette will be expected from our members. One-liners will not be allowed and all posts should have something that moves the thread forward with either actions or dialogue. Don’t let your character just be a bump on a log!
The Mutant Response Division has been slowly working its way across the United States of America. Many cells in their holding facilities across the nation have been filled, and the MRD or the ‘Division’ has become a household and federally-used name in regards to conversations dealing with mutantkind.
The Brotherhood of Mutants have a new base of operations, a secluded military base on the Connecticut/New York border, about twenty-five miles from Westchester County, New York, the location of Xavier’s School. The military base, surrounded by several hundred acres, offers the privacy and space that the Brotherhood didn’t have in the old MRD headquarters compound. Another announcement will be made soon about what the new Brotherhood space looks like!
The X-Men have been working around the clock to ensure that Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters remains a safe haven for the students and those seeking refuge alike. X-Men are sent out to recruit young mutants to bring them and family members looking for a safe haven to the school where the mutants can be educated about their powers and the world around them as well as figuring out a way to integrate their family (if foreign and needing refuge) into one of the safe house locations. Classes continue as normal for students, but powers training and self-defense, as well as the general training it takes to become an X-Man, are required as well. Not all students become X-Men, but all are trained in combat.
It’s hard to believe that October is nearly over! With the weather cooling and the school year well underway, it’s time for a Halloween party to liven things up at the otherwise strict school.
On October 31, Xavier’s Institute for Gifted Youngsters will be opening it’s doors, so to speak, to not only it’s own residents and students, but to the Brotherhood as well. These are trying times and it’s a firm belief that mutants should be united together when the rest of the nation seems to be united against them. Extra security measures have been taken to even ensure that the grounds immediately surrounding the mansion will be under the massive hologram that is protecting the school. Boundaries are marked with bright orange ribbons, and students are forbidden to cross those lines. (For the sake of the plot, please don’t allow your character to push these rules. There are plenty of other places where mischievous characters can be mischievous without putting the entire school at risk.)
This great Fall Festival, of sorts, will include games and food for the attendees. While costumes are not required, they are most definitely recommended! Be on the lookout for the main Halloween party thread. Groups can branch off into their own threads to make reply times much quicker and get the party going.
The event will happen in-game on October 31, 2021, but posting for the event will run from November 1 to November 30. So have fun and get ready to get spoopy!
Much love from us to you!
